Wrapify, a business that mixes advertising-emblazoned cars, GPS information, crowdsourcing and other computer technology to deliver outdoor advertising, was the audience favorite during the EvoNexus Demo Day on Aug. 27 at the University of California, San Diego.
Representatives from 10 startup businesses gave four-minute pitches to an auditorium full of people during an evening program at the Rady School of Business.
Wrapify is graduating from the EvoNexus pro bono incubator early, the organizations announced on Aug. 25. The business operates in San Diego and San Francisco, and has collected $1 million in funding. Advertisers include Petco and Coldcock Whiskey. James Heller is CEO.
Other Demo Day presenters were Astroprint, CollectiveSun, Crypteron, DotStudioz, GoShare, Halograph, LoanHero, Podify and Qelzal. Wrapify won the balloting with 340 votes.
EvoNexus is an incubator program with San Diego roots. Company founders that participate in EvoNexus don’t have to surrender equity to be a part of the program.
