North County solar engineering and construction firm Independent Energy Solutions Inc. has gone out of business.
Operations were suspended Jan. 25, said a company representative at IES’s Vista headquarters, where the front door was kept locked and a fleet of white utility trucks sat idle outside. She said no one was available to take questions.
The company’s LinkedIn page said IES operated under the same management since 1998 and had clients including San Diego Gas & Electric Co., Pfizer, Qualcomm and the U.S. Navy. The website described the firm as “one of the nation’s leading and most respected residential and commercial solar engineering design/build firms.”
IES designed and installed roof- and ground-mounted solar energy systems, as well as complex hybrid generation plants, totaling more than 50 megawatts, the website stated. It said the company had installed battery projects with total capacity of 18.7 megawatt-hours.
