Union Bank Names Executive Vice President

Bob McNeely, longtime banker for Union Bank of California and on the board of directors of the Centre City Development Corp., the city’s redevelopment arm for downtown, was promoted to executive vice president, the bank announced April 16.

McNeely, who joined Union Bank in 1968, is responsible for coordinating the company’s community development and reinvestment activities, and reports directly to Chief Operating Officer Philip Flynn.

In 2006, the San Francisco-based bank provided $3.3 billion in loans and activities related to the federal Community Reinvestment Act.

Besides serving on CCDC’s board, McNeely is president of the board of trustees for the California Historical Society; chairman of New Covenant Trust Co., wholly owned by the Presbyterian Church Foundation; and a board member of the San Diego County Dental Health Foundation, Neighborhood National Bank and the Urban Financial Services Coalition.

He is also a director for the Social Compact, a member of the President’s Diversity and Equity Community Advisory Council at San Diego State University and the President’s Community Council at Point Loma Nazarene University.
