UC San Diego Health Selects Nashville Firm to Run Oncology Center

UC San Diego Health system has chosen Nashville-based e+CancerCare to operate its Chula Vista radiation oncology facility.

The company will fully take over financial and operational support for the facility, which helps serve patients of Moores Cancer Center.

E+CancerCare, founded in 2002, operates 22 centers in nine states. The company provides an integrated continuum of care for health care providers, including diagnostic testing, radiation oncology, medical oncology and ancillary services, according to a news release. The company partners with health systems to allow physicians and hospitals to focus on patient care rather than operations.

“This is an opportunity to expand cancer care services, with the continued goal of comprehensive care and exceptional clinical outcomes,” said Dr. Arno James Mundt III, professor and chairman of the Department of Radiation Medicine and Applied Sciences at UC San Diego School of Medicine.
