Space Micro Inc., which makes a variety of radiation-hardened electronics for satellites, said that it signed a five-year lease to expand its Mira Mesa facility.
The business will move into a neighboring space with 20,000 square feet, doubling the size of its design and manufacturing quarters.
Space Micro has 65 employees and expects to grow by 25 percent, said Paul Brammer, vice president for business development. “Our forecast is pretty bullish,” Brammer said.
Space Micro also expanded its building space in January.
The business reports it has projects for more than 30 satellite programs in backlog. The projects range in cost from $25,000 to $1 million, the executive said.
David Strobel is CEO of Space Micro, which is employee owned.
