Southwest Adding Direct Local Service to Puerto Vallarta

Southwest Airlines is adding new nonstop flights in 2018 from San Diego to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, along with Newark, N.J. and El Paso, Texas , the Dallas-based carrier announced.

An Aug. 28 company statement said new Saturday and Sunday service to and from Puerto Vallarta will start March 10, 2018, with more information at Southwest.com. The carrier previously began local nonstop service between San Diego and Cabo San Lucas in Mexico.

Southwest is also adding a Sunday-only flight to El Paso, starting March 11, and a daily nonstop flight to Newark starting April 8. The carrier previously offered a summer seasonal service between San Diego and Newark.

The offerings were among several flight additions nationwide announced by Southwest, which is the dominant carrier at San Diego International Airport. The services include 20 new nonstop routes offered at California airports.
