Skybus to Offer $10 Flights to Lindbergh Field

A $10 flight to just about anywhere in the United States is probably an aviation first.

Enter Skybus Airlines, the lowest of the ultra-low-cost carriers.

The airline announced May 30 plans to add daily nonstop service between its home base of Columbus, Ohio, and San Diego beginning July 16. And here’s the kicker. At least 10 seats will be available for $10 on every flight, every day. Tickets for the new destinations went on sale at 6 a.m. on May 30 at skybus.com.

Skybus also said it plans to provide new service to the Hartford, Conn., and Springfield, Mass., area through Westover Metropolitan Airport in Chicopee, Mass.; and to the St. Augustine, Jacksonville and Daytona Beach, Fla., area through the St. Augustine Airport beginning July 18. Another daily nonstop flight to Fort Lauderdale, Fla., is scheduled to begin July 16.

Skybus began service May 22 and operates daily nonstop flights from Columbus to Bob Hope Airport in Burbank; Kansas City, Mo.; the Boston area through Portsmouth International Airport in Portsmouth, N.H.; Richmond, Va.; and several other destinations.

Service to the San Francisco Bay Area through Oakland International Airport is slated to begin June 12.

All Skybus flights offer nonstop service on Airbus A319 jets.
