Sharp Reaches Tentative Agreement With Nurses Union

Sharp HealthCare and a labor union representing many of its nurses have reached tentative agreement on a new three-year contract.

The breakthrough in talks between the health system and Sharp Professional Nurses Network, an affiliate of the United Nurses Association of California/Union of Health Care Professionals, came within a week after a last-minute negotiations averted a strike.

The union representing nearly 5,000 Sharp nurses said it will bring the proposed contract before its members for a ratification vote Dec. 8. The union said it is recommending approval of the agreement.

Sharp has four acute-care and three specialty hospitals, as well as a health plan, two affiliated medical groups and outpatient facilities.
