Sharp Community Medical Group CEO to Leave for LA Position

Another San Diego health executive is being recruited to Los Angeles.

Dr. John Jenrette, the current senior vice president of San Diego-based Sharp HealthCare and chief executive officer of Sharp Community Medical Group, will be leaving the health system in March to join LA-based Cedars-Sinai Medical Network.

At Cedars-Sinai, Jenrette will serve as executive vice president, reporting to Thomas Priselac, president and CEO of the network.

“It is a privilege to join the outstanding leadership team at Cedars-Sinai Health System, and to guide and contribute to the further development of the Medical Network,” Jenrette said in a statement. “I look forward to building on the successes of these high-quality, exceptional physician organizations at Cedars-Sinai in the years ahead.”

Jenrette has served as a member of the Sharp’s executive team for more than 20 years, and has been responsible for guiding the growth, operations and leadership of the Sharp Community Medical Group.

Jenrette is not the first health executive to be recruited to the L.A. region. Last summer, the former CEO of the UC San Diego Health System Paul Viviano was recruited to the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. His position was just recently permanently filled by Patty Maysent.
