Sequenom Inc., a life science company providing tools for genetic analysis, has appointed its current interim president and CEO Dirk van den Boom as president and CEO, effective immediately.
Van den Boom will also keep his seat on Sequenom’s board of directors, according to a recent news release.
Prior to his appointment as interim president and CEO, van den Boom served as chief scientific and strategy officer since June 2014. Before that, he served as executive vice president, research and development and chief technology officer at Sequenom beginning in December 2012. Van den Boom joined Sequenom in 1998 at the company’s Hamburg office, subsequently serving in various management roles of increasing responsibility.
