Scripps Mercy Hospital has opened a $5.3 million, 3,600-square-foot center for breast health services at its medical building in Hillcrest.
The Scripps Mercy O’Toole Breast Care Center — named after lead donor, the Theresa and Edward O’Toole Foundation — features an array of specialized medical rooms as well as a resource center for patients.
The center is offering services such as 3D digital imaging for better diagnostic accuracy, dexa scans to measure bone density and gynecologic and obstetric tracking.
The center is staffed by two radiologists, a nurse navigator, two mammography technologists, one ultrasound technologist and clerical support, according to a recent news release.
