Scripps Health announced Tuesday that it has hired Andy Crowder as its new chief information officer (CIO) and senior vice president.
Crowder will succeed Scripps’ current CIO, Patric Thomas, who is retiring early next year.
Crowder comes to Scripps from MaineHealth, a not-for-profit integrated health care delivery network with 11 hospitals and 17,000 employees, where he served as senior vice president and CIO. At MaineHealth, Crowder led the implementation of the Epic electronic health record (EHR) system – valuable experience to Scripps, which is now working with Epic to design its integrated enterprise EHR system.
Previously, Crowder served as chief information officer at Florida Hospital and Adventist Health System, according to a news release.
Crowder will start at Scripps on Jan. 18, and will work with Thomas until Thomas’ retirement date of Feb. 20.
