Sanders Names Four to Ethics and Arts Commissions

Mayor Jerry Sanders has nominated Clyde L. Fuller to the Ethics Commission, subject to City Council confirmation.

Fuller is retired as a special agent of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, where he investigated white-collar crime. Fuller will assume the unexpired term of former Commissioner April Riel, who has resigned, for a term ending in June 2009.

Fuller is a registered Republican.

Sanders’ office made the announcement April 30.

On April 27, Sanders’ office announced the mayor has reappointed Thomas DiZinno, Bennett Peji and Randy S. Robbins to the Commission for Arts & Culture, also pending City Council confirmation.

A veteran San Diego advertising executive, DiZinno is a partner in Brainweave, a creative agency in Little Italy. He developed the Art + Sol concept for the San Diego Convention & Visitors Bureau and the Precious Cheese public art project for Little Italy.

Peji is the principal of Bennett Peji Design, and is a board member of the Asian Business Association and co-founder and regent of the Baja California Missions Foundation.

Robbins is an architect and principal of Austin Veum Robbins Parshalle and is the current treasurer and past president of the board of Installation Gallery, the sponsor of InSite, which commissions new work by artists from the Americas in public places for the San Diego/Tijuana region.

Each will serve a two-year term that expires in August 2008.
