San Diego’s Oldest Credit Union Opens 24th Branch

California Coast Credit Union, the oldest such institution in San Diego, recently opened its 24th branch.

The new office, in the East Village on J Street near Petco Park, opened for business Feb. 13; a grand opening took place March 3.

Hours for the 777 J St. branch are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.

Cal Coast was established in 1929 by San Diego teachers. Today, it is open to anyone who lives or works in San Diego and Riverside counties.

The credit union has more than $2 billion in assets and about 150,000 members.
