Prudential California Realty, the largest franchisee of the Prudential Real Estate Network, has named Jon Cook president and CEO. He previously served as executive vice president and general manager.
Cook joined Prudential in 2007 and has more than 15 years of experience in the real estate brokerage industry. Cook recently created Prudential’s Luxury Properties Division. He has worked with California Title, Coldwell Banker Residential and founded and managed his own real estate brokerage in the early 1990s.
EDUCATION
San Diego City College has hired Jerry Davis as vice president of administrative services, effective March 1. He has 19 years of fiscal and administrative experience, previously holding similar positions at Mesa Community College in Arizona and Kaiser Permanente in Bellflower.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONSULTING
Jerry Warner has joined Bio Clean Environmental as sales manager. His territory will include the western United States. Most recently, Warner was sales manager for Baysaver Technologies. He has 10 years’ experience in sales.
GOVERNMENT AND NONPROFIT
The San Diego Better Business Bureau has promoted Andrea McNelis from director of marketing to director of sponsorships and special events. She will be responsible for event planning and management, as well as fundraising efforts. Cristy Koebler has been promoted from marketing assistant to marketing and special events coordinator. The BBB has named DeAndre Harris, Michael Sedio and Truc Mai customer care representatives. Karen Kivi has been hired as an accredited business director and will be responsible for recruiting businesses and charities.
The Metropolitan Transit System, which runs the San Diego Trolley and serves as the region’s major transit operator, has named Al Ovrom and Merrilee Boyack to its board of directors. Jim Cunningham will serve as an alternate. Ovrom is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy and began serving on the board in 1998. Boyack is a Poway city councilwoman and practices law.
The city of Carlsbad has selected Gordon Peterson as information technology director. He will oversee the city’s information systems, including financial, document management, public works and the library. He has worked with the city for 22 years.
The El Cajon Community Development Corp. has named Bob Christiansen senior manager of resource development and promotions. Christiansen will head fundraising efforts, annual gifts and sponsorships. He has 25 years of experience in the nonprofit sector.

Jacqueline Mittelstadt has joined the partnership at Del Mar Law Group in its environmental practice group. She possesses 14 years’ experience in environmental, governmental relations, land use, and real estate law. Mittelstadt is a graduate of UCLA and McGeorge School of Law.
Blake Woodhall has joined The Roth Law Firm as a civil litigator, focusing his practice on several areas, including insurance defense, construction defects, and public entity and government torts.
DLA Piper has elected Brian Fogarty partner. He is part of DLA’s patent litigation practice, concentrating on civil trial practice in federal courts with an emphasis on patent litigation, International Trade Commission proceedings, trademark litigation and class action lawsuits.
REAL ESTATE
The San Diego County Commercial Association of Realtors has elected this year’s officers and directors. Jay Diskin will serve as president, Steve Malley as vice president, Jim Tostado as secretary and Steve Miller as treasurer. Board members include Mark Brady, Jed Weinberg, Barbara Kreis, Kent Twomey, Kevin Farrell, Mark McDonald, Dottie Surdi, Krista Berger, Aaron Bove, Rick Hardy and Lee Homer.
Colliers International has hired Greg Lewis as associate vice president. Lewis, a University of Arizona graduate, will focus on leasing and selling industrial and research-and-development properties in North County.
TECHNOLOGY
Del Mar DataTrac has hired John Aslanian, Nancy Castillo, Kerriee Hall, Maureen Kabalin and Mark Witte. Aslanian was previously employed with DataTrac for six years and has been rehired as director of sales and will be responsible for managing the national account team. Castillo is a former mortgage underwriter and has been hired as a client service representative. Hall has been named West Coast client care manager. Kabalin will serve as business analyst. She was most recently a senior loan assurance auditor for SCME Mortgage Bankers. Witte will serve as account executive, assisting in business development efforts.
