Executive Spotlight: Gayle Blatt

Gayle Blatt has been appointed to the board of governors of the Consumer Attorneys of California. Blatt will represent the interests of consumers as a board member. Blatt, a partner with Casey Gerry Schenk Francavilla Blatt & Penfield LLP, focuses her practice on personal injury, pharmaceutical and product liability litigation. In addition to her membership with the CAOC, Blatt is also a member of the American Association for Justice and the San Diego County Bar Association.

Scott Ferguson has joined ABD Insurance and Financial Services as vice president. He specializes in providing risk management and financial solutions for construction, retail and food manufacturing clients.


Construction and Design

Salerno/Livingston Architects has promoted Antoinette Sanchez to development director. She will focus on maintaining client relationships, identifying new opportunities and overseeing internal marketing functions.


Health Care and Biotech

Novalar Pharmaceuticals Inc. has added Robert Stefanovich and Jeffery Lord to the company. Stefanovich has been appointed chief financial officer and Lord has been appointed vice president of sales.

John Spinosa has been named the new chief of staff for Scripps Health La Jolla.


Law

Best Best & Krieger has named Delmar Williams and Alison Alpert as partners in the firm. Williams specializes in real estate law, municipal and redevelopment law. Alpert practices labor and employment law, wrongful termination, retaliation and discrimination law.

Jerry Livingston has joined the law firm of Allen Matkins Leck Gamble Mallory & Natsis LLP. Livingston brings experience related to real estate, land use, water rights and resources, and legislative lobbying groups.

Fish & Richardson P.C. has added three associates to its San Diego office: Joseph Benson, Kim Kennedy and Ryan O’Connor. Benson and O’Connor will practice patent litigation, intellectual property litigation and patent prosecution. Kennedy will focus on the areas of trademarks, copyrights and business litigation.

Grant Puleo, Sarah Rosen, Timothy Salter and Spencer Skeen have been named partners to the firm Procopio, Cory, Hargreaves & Savitch LLP. Puleo provides general litigation advice on a wide variety of real estate, finance and business transactions. Rosen’s practice focuses on representing developers and lenders in connection with the construction, finance and sale of commercial offices. Salter focuses his practice on construction litigation matters. Skeen practices commercial litigation, employment counseling and litigation and real estate litigation.

Fred Hernandez has joined Mintz Levin. Hernandez focuses on patent law and prosecution in the medical device, bioinformatics, computer software and mechanical arts fields.


Miscellaneous

San Diego International Sports Council has installed Dave Stecher as the new chairman of the organization.

The Women’s Business Enterprise National Council has announced the appointment of eight new members to its board of directors. The newly appointed members are: Shari Francis, Melinda Painter, Diane Pinkney, Donna Mullen Good, Ella Koscik, Gail Warrior-Lawrence, Roz Lewis and Pamela O’Rourke.


Real Estate

Commercial Realtors Association of San Diego announced its 2008 board of directors. The new members are Jay Disken with Sperry Van Ness Commercial Real Estate Advisors as president; Krista Berger with Sperry Van Ness as secretary; Barbara Kreis with Sperry Van Ness as director-at-large; and Steve Miller with the San Diego Daily Transcript as treasurer.

Grubb & Ellis|BRE Commercial announced that Jose Morfin has joined the company’s capital markets group. Morfin will provide loan underwriting and processing services.

Jed Stirnkorb has joined CB Richard Ellis as senior vice president.


Retail

Healthy Inspiration LLC has named Evelyn Olson Lamden and Margaret McAllister as regional directors. In their new roles, Lamden and McAllister will handle franchise sales and support in San Diego and Imperial counties.

Amy Boone Thompson has been named chief operating officer of Stroller Strides LLC. Thompson will be responsible for the development, design, operation and improvement of the systems that create and deliver Stroller Strides services.

Search Optics Inc. has named Joey Leffel as director of communications. Leffel will act as a point-of-contact to retail automotive customers for client education.


Technology and Manufacturing

Mike Pierce has been named chief executive officer of Breach Security Inc. In his new role, Pierce will focus on business development and strategic partnerships.

Imagine Communications has named Chris Gordon as director of product management.
