Bridgepoint Education has hired Shari Rodriguez as director of public relations. She is responsible for day-to-day operations and management of Bridgepoint’s PR department, as well as its subsidiaries, Ashford University and the University of the Rockies.

Before joining Bridgepoint Education, Rodriguez owned and operated Lemon Drop Productions, a San Diego-based communications and event planning public relations firm. She has served in such roles as director of public relations for Mazzarella Caldarelli, a San Diego law firm; interim director of community and public relations for the San Diego State University Research Foundation; and assistant director of public relations for the San Diego Opera.

Banking and Finance

Torrey Pines Bank has named Paul Donaldson division president. Donaldson will lead expansion efforts into surrounding markets. He has 25 years of experience in business development and management, most recently with California Bank & Trust.

Construction and Design

Tina Sue Taylor has been promoted to general manager at Sully-Jones Roofing. Taylor has been at Sully-Jones since 2000 as office manager. She has 15 years of management experience in the roofing industry. Her responsibilities include customer service supervision, accounting, computer systems, and office administration.

Ware Malcomb has hired Mario Arellano as project manager of site development. Arellano graduated from UCLA and is a California licensed civil engineer with six years’ experience. He will support the architectural and site development teams in San Diego, Irvine and other North American offices.

Michelle Loftus and Kiley Keck have joined Good & Roberts as project coordinators. Loftus and Keck will serve as liaisons among clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors and project managers.

Miscellaneous

Strategic Development Worldwide, a consulting firm specializing in organizational and individual development, has appointed Arthur “Arte” Nathan to its board. Nathan, a Cornell University graduate, has directed human resources programs for several notable resorts and casinos in the last 20 years, including the Wynn Resorts property in Las Vegas.

SGIS, which provides defense services, has promoted Michael Ulmer-Goodrich from accounting manager to director of process management and control. He attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Eric Anderson has been hired as sales manager at Total Secure Shredding, while Marcos Gutierez has been hired as security consultant.

JWilliamsStaffing has promoted Linda Stewart to division vice president and Josie Castro has been named regional manager. They will be responsible for the Inland Empire and San Diego regions. Stewart has 19 years’ experience in real estate management, while Castro has more than 20 years in multifamily property management.

Nonprofit

The Scripps Research Institute has appointed Holly Cline as a professor in the departments of cell biology and chemical physiology. Cline is a graduate of Bryn Mawr College and UC Berkeley. Most recently, she was director of research at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory in New York.

Eric Lodge has been named to the North County Philanthropy Council’s board of directors. Lodge is a partner at Procopio, Cory, Hargreaves & Savitch. The council provides education and training in fundraising and leadership development.

Technology and Manufacturing

Leap Wireless International has hired Keith Buckley as senior vice president of supply chain management and promoted Kirk Golbach to senior vice president of field operations and field sales. Buckley was general manager for consumer products for Telecom New Zealand Group. Golbach was hired earlier this year as Midwest regional vice president.

Etienne Paillard has been appointed CEO of Stantum Technologies. Paillard has 25 years of management experience and previously served as CEO for Varioptic and Temex. He is succeeding one of Stantum’s co-founders, Guillaume Largillier.

Matthew McManus has been promoted to vice president of sales at ESET. Formerly director of sales operations, McManus will head the North American sales team. He has 17 years of sales experience.
