Local engineering firm Southern California Soil and Testing, Inc. (SCST) recently acquired Talentscale, LLC, a service-disabled, veteran-owned firm in Temecula.
Talentscale’s geographic reach and service offerings will help SCST expand into the engineering and construction industry and maritime services market.
“The benefit is that the SCST core business is AEC (architecture, engineering, construction) and we have been positioning ourselves for this to be another scalable growth area,” said Doug Poldrugo, principal of Talentscale, in a news release. “It will also result in our addition of the next wave of recruiting and business development staff to support the growth into these markets.”
Talentscale, founded in 2008, employs about 120 employees and primarily serves defense contractors and aerospace firms, but has moved into safety manager positions, quality assurance managers and environmental support staff for the AEC industry.
“Both the construction and environmental markets often utilize a staffing service to provide skilled and trained employees on a project-by-project basis where new, full-time employees are often not economical and can be time consuming for general contractors and engineering firms to recruit and train,” said Bill Ulmer, executive VP of SCST, in a release. “We are frequently asked to fill these positions and now we have the means to do so at a very aggressive price point with an extremely talented group of recruiters. Our clients are ecstatic.”
