Salvation Army Makes Smart Move

SmartDrive Systems Inc. announced July 9 that its driver risk management system has been selected for deployment in The Salvation Army’s West Coast fleet of vehicles.

The Salvation Army fleet is the 13th largest fleet of vehicles in the country.

Financial consideration of the deal was not disclosed.

SmartDrive’s incident review service has been used by the charitable organization since mid-2006 and was chosen for this contract after a lengthy process, according to a company news release.

SmartDrive’s technology will continuously record driving activities and will be used in “box trucks,” which The Salvation Army uses to collect donations, as well as in passenger vans operated by the organization.
