SAIC Snaps Up Army Contract, Navy Task Order

Science Applications International Corp. recently announced it had received two defense contracts.

On March 15, the company said it received a contract from the U.S. Army Chemical Materials Agency. The contract, which has a base period of five years, is potentially worth $62 million. Under the deal, SAIC will perform technical services to the agency.

The chemical materials agency awarded three such contracts.

SAIC has supported the agency for 15 years.

In unrelated news, SAIC announced March 14 that it had won a task order from the Naval Surface Warfare Center’s Crane Division in Crane, Ind. SAIC will provide technical services related to electronic warfare. The task order has a two-year base term and three one-year option periods. If all options are awarded, the contract’s total value could exceed $122 million.

SAIC trades on the New York Stock Exchange as SAI. Shares stood at $17.87 at midday March 15, up 23 cents from the previous day’s close.
