SAIC Inc., which still has 3,500 employees in the San Diego region, said April 6 that it was awarded a prime contract from the U.S. Department of Justice for a full range of information technology services in support of numerous federal agencies.
SAIC is one of 20 contractors that will compete for task orders under the contract. Competitors will bid on work worth $1.1 billion.
The indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract has a base period that began March 4, and extends to Sept. 30, and comes with six one-year options, said SAIC, which has been headquartered in McLean, Va. since 2009.
Under the contract, SAIC will provide a range of IT support services, including large scale systems integration, and modifying and maintaining current systems. The company didn’t say whether any of the work will occur in San Diego.
In its last fiscal year ended Jan. 31, SAIC reported net profit of $618 million on total revenue of $11.1 billion.
