Red Door Names New Director

San Diego-based Red Door Interactive has hired a director of search marketing this week with the hopes of increasing the number of times Web sites belonging to Red Door clients get noticed by online search engines.

The company, which manages and advises various online activities for its clients, announced Jan. 17 that Paul Bruemmer, formerly of Ventura-based Bruce Clay, Inc., has been hired to lead efforts to expand Red Door client recognition on the Internet using search engine optimization techniques. In other words, improve the odds of attracting new customers to a particular site by increasing the number of times a company gets listed among the results of an Internet search on popular engines, such as Google.

“With search being the primary vehicle for organizations to be found online, and Paul joining our team, we are further emphasizing the importance of elevating clients’ presence through search marketing on both a local and international level,” said Reid Carr, the president of Red Door.

Bruemmer is not replacing anyone at Red Door because his position was just recently created at the company. Salary details have not been released.

At Bruce Clay, Inc., Bruemmer, 51, served as principal business analyst. He has also previously held senior management positions with Web Ignite Corp., TrademarkSEO and WebSpecialist, LLC.

He has published articles in iMediaConnection, ClickZ, WebProNews, Pandia and Search Engine Guide.
