Presidium Health Raises $3.5 Million To Reduce ER Visits

Seniors and patients with chronic conditions are more likely to cycle through emergency rooms. So why not bring regular care to them?

That’s the guiding force behind Presidium Health, which recently raised a $3.5 million Series A round.

Presidium’s physicians and nurse practitioners regularly visit patients at home — for everything from X-rays to medication management.

Its platform transmits patient vitals and other health information in real time, the company says. This guides care and tips off its traveling doctors in case of emergency.

The company launched its mobile health team in San Diego and will expand to wider Southern California next year.

Its services are covered by some insurers, with more signing on, according to Presidium.

The company is taking aim at a surge in emergency room use, a topic covered by the San Diego Business Journal this summer.

Alethea Capital Management led the round of financing.
