President/CEO of Affirmed Housing to Chair State Housing Consortium

James Silverwood, the president and CEO of local company Affirmed Housing, will serve as 2016 board chair of the California Housing Consortium.

The California Housing Consortium is a nonpartisan advocate for affordable housing provisions for low- to moderate-income Californians through representation in the development, building, financial and public sectors.

“I want to congratulate my friend Jim Silverwood on becoming the Chair of the California Housing Consortium,” Assembly Speaker Toni G. Atkins said in a news release. “Jim has been a valuable community partner in helping create more affordable housing and I’m pleased he’ll be able to help CHC as we push for more affordable housing resources in our state.”

Silverwood, a developer, joined the California Housing Consortium board in 2010. He served as vice chair the past two years. With his over 34 years of experience in real estate development, Silverwood led his team at Affirmed Housing to secure over $800 million in financing and tax credit equity, develop affordable homes and seek out communities for affordable housing.
