Ophthonix Co-founder Leaves Company

After seven years as chairman of the board and chief technology officer, Ophthonix co-founder Andreas Dreher said on Aug. 1 that he has decided to step down.

Dreher will remain as a consultant for the San Diego-based vision-correction company. Ophthonix plans to look for a new chief technology officer to replace Dreher.

Chief Executive Officer Steve Osbaldeston said the move is a reflection on where the company is thanks to Dreher’s vision and success with bringing the newest optical technology to customers.

“Clearly he’s had a significant impact on the company,” said Osbaldeston. “He’s been a true visionary and a missionary and in getting our investors to rally behind us. He’s also been an excellent coach and mentor since I’ve come on board in February.”
