National University System Adds Northcentral University

National University System, a private, nonprofit based in San Diego, has acquired Northcentral University as an affiliate member.

Northcentral University is an online graduate program that focuses on a one-on-one teaching model, according to a news release.

Northcentral adds an additional 22 doctoral programs and 25 master’s degree programs to the National University System roster. Other affiliates of the System include: National University; John F. Kennedy University; City University of Seattle.

According to National University System, the WSCUC-accredited NCU joins other National University System affiliate universities and pre-college programs that now collectively enroll more than 45,000 students in all 50 states, with additional students in more than 40 countries.

National University System said the addition of NCU reinforces the National University System’s historic commitment to advancing educational opportunities for students of diverse backgrounds, including adult learners, as the demand for advanced-degree holders in the workforce continues to grow.

“As a nonprofit network, the National University System is dedicated to investing in our students and lowering the cost of quality college degree through innovative approaches aimed at supporting their academic and workforce goals,” said Chancellor of the National University System Michael R. Cunningham via a statement.

National University System offers more than 130 programs through online and on-site degree programs from its affiliate members. The System also includes programs like the national Sanford Programs, Sanford Harmony and Sanford Inspire, which provide educators with lesson plans and activities for Pre-K through grade-12 students; and the Sanford Institute of Philanthropy, which offers educational and training programs for frontline nonprofit fundraisers.
