San Diego-based Rick Engineering Co. has appointed Kai Ramer as its first chief operating officer.
Ramer, who has worked at Rick Engineering for 30 years, is a longstanding principal with the firm and a member of its board of directors.
He was most recently responsible for building the firm’s public works practice. He also oversaw multiple branch offices.
As COO, Ramer will manage the company’s technical business units and lead and support growth and client service companywide, the company said.
Ramer, a civil and traffic engineer, has a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from California State University, Chico.
