Herman Construction Among Eight Cos. Tapped For $180M U.S. Army Orders

Escondido-based Herman Construction Group Inc. is among eight companies that will split as much as $180 million in U.S. Army construction task orders, the Pentagon announced Sept. 12.

The companies will offer design-build and construction services as well as medical repair and renewal services for medical facilities, systems and equipment at government medical facilities in all 50 states, plus U.S. territories.

The eight businesses will now wait for task orders from the Army. Work is expected to last until 2022.

Contracts were distributed among large and small businesses. The Pentagon notice said Herman is a small business.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in Huntsville, Alabama, awarded the deal. Thirty-two businesses submitted bids.
