San Diego-based GreatCall Inc. has leased a 61,000-square-foot space in Carlsbad it plans to expand into in May.
The connected-health company said the space at 2200 Faraday Ave. is 20 percent larger than GreatCall’s existing Carlsbad call center at 1950 Camino Vida Roble, which it will no longer occupy.
As part of the move, the company plans to hire up to 100 new employees.
The new location boasts an on-site gym, a fitness room and an outdoor lounge area.
“This space will allow us to honor our vision of health and wellness, meaningful work and bringing safety and independence to older adults,” CEO David Inns said in a news release.
GreatCall offers a suite of phones, passive monitors and other digital communication products and services geared toward senior citizens. It employs more than 1,000 people, including 200 at its headquarters and more than 350 in Carlsbad.
