The 17th Annual Benefit for Mission Hospital Audi and Infiniti of Mission Viejo Gold Tournament presented by Cox Business was held at Coto de Caza Golf & Racquet Club. The event raised $300,000 for Mission Hospital.
Irvine Public Schools Foundation raised $902,000 and has completed a one-to-one challenge match offered by the city of Irvine, for a total of $1.8 million. The money will go to the Irvine Unified School District to support Irvine public schools
Irvine-based Zipz Shoes donated 18,000 pairs of its shoes, valued at $300,000, to nonprofit Soles4Souls, which collects and dist-ributes shoes to people in need around the world.
The 2009 Huntington Beach Relay for Life through the American Cancer Society raised $105,000. Teams of people camped out at Central Park and took turns walking or running around a path for 24 consecutive hours. The third annual Pink Tie Ball, hosted by the Orange County affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure, raised $250,000 for breast health services for under-served women in OC. About 400 guests attended the event at Hoguchi Garden at Pacific Arts Plaza in Costa Mesa. Money was raised through sponsorships, ticket sales and auctions throughout the evening.
The 12th Annual Creams’ Clambake & Rockin’ Lobster Bash held at Shady Canyon Golf Club raised $102,000 for Children’s Bureau. The nonprofit treats and prevents child abuse and neglect.
California State University, Fullerton’s College of the Arts and MAMM Alli-ance for the Performing Arts raised $86,000 at Clayes Collage Concert to mark the nam-ing of the university’s Joseph Clayes III Performing Arts Center. Proceeds benefit student scholarships and performing arts programs.
