Local company Elder Care Guides announced March 8 its name change to Windward Life Care, reflecting a shifting emphasis in the care management industry toward aging well, proactive wellness planning and prevention.
Founded in 2004 as Elder Care Guides, the company provided services in social work, nursing, geriatrics, counseling and caregiving. Now as Windward Life Care, the company’s model will still offer those services but focus on having aging life care professionals work with caregivers in providing care management, in-home care and consultations.
The clinical staff at Windward Life Care are members of the Aging Life Care Association, San Diego unit and the California Association for Health Services at Home, among others. The staff at Windward Life Care also give assessments to families and professionals making decisions about elder care.
