A San Diego company has opened its third cold therapy treatment center at a location in La Jolla.
Chiltonic offers whole-body cryotherapy in a spa setting in San Diego’s Hillcrest area, Encinitas and, now, 7825 Fay Ave., Suite LL-C in La Jolla.
Cryotherapy was first used in Japan in 1978 for treatment of rheumatoid arthritis. It has since been embraced by professional athletes as well as those who view the three-minute nitrogen vapor treatments as helping with a variety of conditions.
“There are so many exciting applications for cryotherapy,” Chiltonic founder Matthew Berman said in a news release. He listed potential benefits in the areas of pain management, athletic rehabilitation, metabolic boosts, anti-aging and skin rejuvenation.
