Reyman Bros. Construction and Heritage Architecture and Planning are set to begin renovating Old Town San Diego State Historic Park on June 1. The renovations will include the restoration of historic structures in the park, including Casa de Reyes, the Cosmopolitan Restaurant and Hotel, and the Jolly Boy Saloon and Restaurant, as well as the retail stores in the Plaza del Pasado. In 2003, Delaware North Parks and Resorts was awarded a 10-year concessionaire contract by the California Department of Parks and Recreation to restore the area. There may be temporary closures of restaurants and shops in Old Town during the next 12 to 18 months. The construction plans will be phased in so that there will always be at least seven retail shops and two restaurants open at all times to accommodate visitors, according to Delaware North.
Cost: $12 million.
