Anti-cancer drugmaker MEI Pharma Inc. has recruited Brian Drazba to serve as the company’s chief financial officer.
Drazba comes to MEI from Heron Therapeutics Inc., the Redwood City-based maker of Sustol, a drug meant to help patients reduce the nausea associated with chemotherapy treatments.
Before Heron, Drazba served as vice president of finance and chief accounting officer at ISTA Pharmaceuticals Inc., and held various positions at Insight Health Corp. for nearly two decades.
Drazba takes over the CFO position from Thomas Zech, who is retiring. Zech has served as MEI’s CFO since 2010.
