The Imperial Beach City Council approved plans for a beachfront hotel during its Dec. 5 meeting, passing the project on to the state Coastal Commission for review.
San Diego-based Pacifica Companies plans to build a 78-room condo hotel on the site of the Seacoast Inn, at Seacoast Drive and Date Avenue. The new building would rise four stories and include a restaurant, meeting facilities and 111 underground parking spaces.
Plans call for the demolition of the three-story, 38-room Seacoast Inn, and the demolition and reconstruction of a seawall.
