AMN Healthcare Reports Net Income of $81.9 Million for 2015

San Diego-based AMN Healthcare posted a 147 percent year-over-year spike in net income.

The health care staffing firm reported full-year net income of $81.9 million for 2015, up from $33.2 million in 2014. Net earnings were on $1.5 billion in revenue in 2015, up 41 percent from $1 billion the prior year. That boost in revenue was driven by organic growth of 26 percent, with the remainder from acquisitions.

In early 2015, AMN Healthcare acquired three brands from OGH LLC for $82.5 million: Onward Healthcare, Locum Leaders and Medefis. In September 2015, AMN Healthcare paid $6.5 million to snatch Irvine-based The First String Healthcare. Then, in November, the company announced the acquisition of global health care staffing firm B.E. Smith for $160 million.

AMN’s fourth-quarter revenue also grew 44 percent, from $279.6 million in 2014 up to $402.6 million last year. Net income nearly doubled from $9.9 million in 2014, to $20 million last year.
