A reminder to anyone driving on June 1: The San Diego Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon is taking place. You might want to find an alternative route to avoid traffic congestion.
The 26.2 mile marathon and a half marathon race are expected to draw about 30,000 runners. They start off in Balboa Park at 6:15 a.m. and will affect both freeways and surface streets at least till 2 p.m.
Roads leading to Lindbergh Field will be impacted beginning around 4 a.m., so leave extra time if you’re departing on a flight or meeting a passenger, the San Diego International Airport team advises.
