Time Warner Cable said March 22 that it has begun a program to increase Internet speeds for its San Diego County customers. The cable system operates in the area of the county north of the San Diego River.
Many customers will get access to speeds as high as 300 megabits per second beginning this month, a spokesman said. The business will complete its infrastructure upgrades allowing the faster speeds by the end of the year.
Time Warner Cable (NYSE: TWC) also said that it has increased the number of company Wi-Fi hotspots in the county to more than 1,100.
Time Warner’s territory is generally north of Interstate 8 in San Diego as well as North County, though Cox Communications serves a few North County communities.
