Viasat Inc. has entered an agreement with Sandler Partners that will let Sandler resell the Carlsbad company’s satellite internet service to business customers. The two companies made the announcement on Dec. 11. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
ViaSat-2 offers data service at speeds up to 100 megabits per second in selected areas. The speed is suitable for applications such as cloud-based collaboration, high-speed file transfers and streaming video. Business customers that cannot reach cable or fiber connections can nevertheless get speeds up to 10 times faster than a DSL connection, Viasat said.
Viasat (Nasdaq: VSAT) launched the ViaSat-2 high-capacity communications satellite in June 2017.
Sandler Partners bills itself as America’s fastest-growing distributor of connectivity and cloud services. It has made repeated appearances on Inc. magazine’s list of 5000 fastest-growing companies. Sandler has its headquarters in Hermosa Beach, southwest of downtown Los Angeles.
