Qualcomm Looking Down Wi-Fi Road With Wilocity Buy

Qualcomm Inc. said late July 2 that it acquired Wilocity, a chip maker based in Silicon Valley and Israel, for undisclosed terms.

Wilocity makes chips for so-called WiGig technology, which Wilocity describes as a “super high speed” connection technology. WiGig is similar to Wi-Fi and but works in a different frequency band of 60 gigahertz.
