Qualcomm Inc. said on April 9 that it named Michelle Sterling as executive vice president of human resources, effective May 4.
At the same time, the company announced the retirement of Dan Sullivan, the current executive vice president of human resources, who has led Qualcomm (Nasdaq: QCOM)’s HR organization since joining the company in 1992. Sullivan will serve in an advisory role until his retirement at the end of the year.
Sterling, who joined Qualcomm in 1994, will be part of the corporation’s executive committee and report to CEO Steve Mollenkopf.
Qualcomm noted that Sullivan created a scalable HR operation, helping the company grow from 700 employees to its current 30,000 employees.
