The La Jolla Playhouse has announced its 14th annual “Innovation Night” will take place on Monday, Sept. 27 and celebrate Honorary Chair David F. Hale, chairman and CEO of Hale Biopharma Ventures, LLC.
The event will be held on the Playhouse’s outdoor Taper Plaza from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Innovation Night is described by the Playhouse as San Diego’s premiere networking event that brings together leaders from San Diego’s biotech, life sciences, high tech, clean tech, defense, telecommunications, and associated industries for “an extraordinary evening at La Jolla Playhouse – a leader in creating the most cutting—edge and innovative theatre for San Diego and beyond.”
The event supports the Playhouse’s New Play Development and Learning & Engagement programs.
In recognition of the vibrant culture of innovation in the San Diego region, this annual fundraiser celebrates the ingenuity among the world’s top companies.
“San Diego’s dynamic innovation community, featuring tech leaders like Hale BioPharma Ventures, has made an enormous impact on the local and national healthcare landscape,” said Playhouse Managing Director Debby Bucholz. “Over the last decade, Innovation Night has raised indispensable funds to enhance the Playhouse’s own R&D; efforts, while facilitating vital creative collaborations between San Diego’s high-tech/biotech industries and the arts.”
The event will feature performances by the group String Theory and feature a special Innovation Gallery hosted by Biocept, Cooley, DTxPharma, Hale BioPharma, Histogen, Illumina, IQHQ, Luna DNA, Marsh & McLennan, Neurelis, Oncternal Therapeutics, Qualcomm, Rady Children’s Hospital Foundation, SDSU Research and Innovation, TEGA Therapeutics and UC San Diego.
