Data Sharing Startup Secures $3.5 million in Seed Round

San Diego-based data startup, called Gretel, announced it raised $3.5 million in seed funding from investors including Moonshots Capital, Greylock Partners, Village Global and several angel investors.

The new funding will go toward development of software which helps developers and engineers access and share data autonomously for developing applications.

Founded in 2019, CEO Alexander Watson and the founding team previously held jobs working for the National Security Agency, Google and Amazon Web Services.

In particular, the startup is developing toolsets, services, and an application programming interface (APIs) for its users. Which in turn, lets developers experiment, collaborate, and build with anonymized customer data.
