Cubic Corp. reported a net loss of $6.6 million or 23 cents per share on net sales of $305.3 million during the quarter ended Dec. 31. The Kearny Mesa-based corporation — which specializes in transportation and defense technology — reported its financial results on Feb. 6.
In the same quarter last year, Cubic (NYSE: CUB) reported a net loss of $9.8 million or 36 cents per share on net sales of $248.4 million.
The company said it expects full year sales to be in the range of $1.4 billion to $1.475 billion. The figure is up from its November estimate of $1.37 billion to $1.45 billion. Since November, Cubic announced its plan to acquire Gridsmart, a company specializing in transportation technology.
Cubic’s fiscal year began Oct. 1, so the recently completed quarter was its first.
