Abacus Data Systems, which offers cloud-based information technology to several vertical markets, said it plans to add 80 employees to its staff in 2016. It also announced a move to a 19,000-square-foot headquarters in the University Towne Center business district.
Abacus serves legal, financial and healthcare organizations, counting 250,000 clients worldwide.
The new headquarters marks Abacus’ second office expansion in 18 months, and will let the company expand its core team to support a larger client base, said CEO Alessandra Lezama. The CEO described the company’s 2015 growth as incredible.
The new jobs will be in sales, development, engineering and client services.
Abacus currently has 120 employees; the additions will bring its headcount to 200.
Abacus secured more data center presence in January. The company has three fully redundant data centers in the United States.
Providence Equity of Rhode Island made a strategic majority investment in Abacus late last year. The amount of the investment was not disclosed.
Abacus made one more change, investing in a new brand identity and corporate symbol, a stylized letter A.
