Manchester United ambassador Andrew Cole and Wrexham AFC Chairman Rob McElhenney appeared in San Diego to announce the July 25 match. They were joined by Qualcomm Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer Don McGuire and San Diego City Council President Pro Tem Monica Montgomery-Steppe.
