Law Project Gets a Cash Infusion for Its Bankruptcy Work

California Western’s Community Law Project has received a $5,000 grant from the American College of Bankruptcy Foundation to support the free legal services the project provides to individuals seeking counsel on bankruptcy-related issues.

“We are delighted to be the recipients of a generous grant from the American College of Bankruptcy,” said Dana Sisitsky, director of the project. “Individuals across San Diego continue to struggle financially as they attempt to find their ways out from debilitating debt situations. The support of the American College of Bankruptcy will help the Community Law Project assist many of these individuals as they start down the road to financial stability.”

This year, the Community Law Project celebrates its 10th anniversary of providing free legal services to low-income and vulnerable individuals in San Diego, helping them understand and successfully navigate their bankruptcy or other legal issues.

Fish & Richardson has been ranked as an elite “National Tier 1” law firm in five practice areas — patent litigation, intellectual property (IP) litigation, patent law, technology law, and trademark law — by U.S. News & World Report. Fish was also recognized as the “Law Firm of the Year” in two practice areas: litigation-intellectual property and patent law. Only one law firm in each practice area — from among thousands of firms nationally — is selected to receive “Law Firm of the Year” honors, making these two designations a particularly significant achievement.

The rankings are based on a rigorous evaluation process that includes client and lawyer evaluations, peer reviews from leading attorneys, and a review of additional information provided by law firms. Most important, Fish’s offices in San Diego also received “Tier 1” rankings.
