San Diego based private equity firm HCAP Partners has announced its investment in DYPER, which claims to be the world’s first bamboo diaper subscription service. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
DYPER can be safely composted and are backed by carbon offsets each month, reducing the environmental impact from manufacturing to disposal.”
HCAP is a provider of mezzanine debt and private equity for underserved, lower-middle market companies throughout California and the western U.S. The firm seeks to invest $2 million to $15 million in established businesses generating between $10 million and $75 million in revenues, according to the company.
Nicolas Lopez, a principal at HCAP, led the transaction. Partners Tim Bubnack and Frank Mora and Principals Hope Mago and Lopez lead HCAP Partners investment team.

San Diego specialty watchmaker Original Grain is making watches using reclaimed wood foeders (barrels) from New Belgium Brewing Co. The barrels are used for up to 50 years.
“New Belgium’s reputation for not only producing world-class beers, but our brands’ shared belief in sustainability, made the brewery the ideal partner for this collection,” said Original Grain co-founder Ryan Beltran.
