In Westerns, you didn’t need analytics to tell the bad guy. He showed his character — or lack thereof — right when he walked into the saloon. Times have changed.
PointPredictive, a provider of machine learning, AI and fraud solutions, digs deep to find bad actors looking to scam the system.
The company had record attendance at its Auto Lending Fraud Roundtable held recently in Plano, Texas.
According to the San Diego-based company, auto lenders identified their three biggest fraud concerns.
- Deceptive credit washing where false claims of identity theft are used to remove legitimate problems.
- The rise in synthetic identity where credit protection numbers are used to create new credit under false pretenses.
- The systematic fraud by dealers that results in early payment defaults.
PointPredictive’s tools take on fraud in auto, mortgage and retail as well as income validation.
It’s a fascinating business.

As she said at the SDBJ CEO of the Year Awards, while accepting a Lifetime Achievement Award, “it enabled me to have some capital while searching for my dream job in health care.”
Obviously, she found that dream job. The fruits of our labor can produce some great results.
