Constance Carroll retired in 2021 as chancellor of San Diego Community College District, a position she had held since 2004. As chancellor, Carroll guided the state’s second-largest community college district, with more than 102,000 total students, through unprecedented expansion funded by a $1.5 billion bond program. Carroll was previously president of San Diego Mesa College for 11 years, and served a six-year term on the National Council on the Humanities
